TL;DR — DictoKey collects no personal data, requires no account, and does not track you. Your voice recordings are processed and immediately deleted.

1. No Personal Data Collection

DictoKey does not collect, store, or share any personal information. We do not require:

User accounts or registration
Email addresses
Names or phone numbers
Location data

2. Voice & Audio Processing

When you use DictoKey's voice dictation:

Your audio is sent to our secure servers for speech-to-text processing (powered by OpenAI Whisper).
The audio is processed in real time and immediately deleted after transcription — it is never stored.
Transcribed text is returned to your device and is not retained on our servers.

3. Translation & AI Rewrite

When you use translation or AI rewrite features:

Your text is sent to Azure AI / OpenAI for processing.
The text is processed and returned — it is not stored or used for model training.

4. Anonymous Device Identifier

DictoKey generates an anonymous device ID solely for the purpose of counting daily dictation usage (to enforce the free tier limit of 30 dictations/day). This ID:

Cannot identify you personally
Is not linked to any personal information
Is not shared with third parties
Can be deleted at any time using the "Delete my data" button in the app settings

5. No Cookies or Third-Party Tracking

DictoKey does not use cookies, analytics trackers, advertising SDKs, or any third-party tracking tools. We do not serve ads.

6. Data Security

All communications between DictoKey and our servers are encrypted using TLS (HTTPS). Audio data exists only transiently during processing and is never written to persistent storage.

7. GDPR Compliance

DictoKey is fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Since we do not collect personal data, there is minimal data to manage. However, you can:

Use the "Delete my data" button in the app to remove your anonymous device ID
Contact us to request information about any data associated with your device
Uninstall the app at any time — no residual data remains on our servers

8. Children's Privacy

DictoKey does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Since no personal data is collected from any user, the app is safe for all ages.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
